Nylon is a very strong, heat resistant membrane manufactured by impregnating a polyester web with the nylon polymer. Several uniques properties of Nylon make this polymer universally accepted in the laboratory. Nylon is inherently hydrophilic lending to negligible amounts of aqueous extractables. Nylon is compatible with a broad range of aqueous and alcoholic solutions and solvents that are frequently used in HPLC. No prewetting required. Nylon will bind proteins, DNA and RNA. Other applications include vacuum degassing, filter sterilize and clarify buffers and tissue culture solutions.
